✨ Breaching Humpbacks
When a humpback whale launches its 40-ton body out of the water, it’s a moment you feel as much as you see. While breaching isn’t something we witness every day, the few times we’ve seen it this season left guests (and crew!) speechless.
🦅 The Eaglet on the Jetty
We’ve been keeping an eye on a growing bald eagle chick right here in Steveston, and it’s been amazing to watch its progress week by week. From tiny fluffball to fierce flapper, it’s a reminder that wildlife moments aren’t just offshore, they’re all around us.
🦭 The Giants: Steller Sea Lions
These massive marine mammals are hard to miss—especially the fully grown males lounging along the rocks or barking across the bay. It’s not just their size that’s impressive, but their presence.
🐬 Dolphin Surprise!
Pacific white-sided dolphins made a joyful appearance this season, and true to form, they didn’t hold back. Energetic, social, and fast, these dolphins brought energy to the water and a few unexpected cheers from everyone on board.
👀 Spyhopping Orcas
One of the more curious behaviours we’ve observed this season—spyhopping! When an orca lifts its head vertically above the surface to get a better look around, it feels like they’re checking us out just as much as we’re watching them. A humbling, awe-inspiring moment.
🌫️ The Quiet Grace of Grey Whales
There’s something uniquely peaceful about watching grey whales feed slowly nearshore—graceful, methodical, and always a joy to observe. These gentle giants remind us to slow down and just take it all in.
Ready to Make Your Own Memories?
We’ve still got plenty of season ahead, and if these first few months are any sign, there’s so much more wonder to come. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning for another adventure, we can’t wait to see what the water has in store.
