Winter Wildlife Eco-Tours: Discover the Salish Sea in a New Season
From orcas to humpbacks, seals to sea lions, and everything in between, we’ve been exploring the Salish Sea for over 25 years — and now, we’re extending our adventures into the winter season. Whether you're a local or visiting BC, this tour is a unique way to experience the West Coast in winter and a fun way to spend a few hours on the water.
While specific sightings can never be guaranteed, winter is a rewarding time to be on the water. Steller and California sea lions are seen in their highest numbers, along with harbour seals, Bald Eagles, and local and seasonal seabirds. Harbour porpoises and whales, including Bigg's killer whales and humpback whales, are sometimes encountered, but whale sightings are not guaranteed in winter. Every trip is different, and part of the fun is discovering what the day brings.
Semi-Enclosed Winter Tour
Our 40+ ft large semi-enclosed vessel is perfect for ocean adventurers of all ages! Enjoy your tour while in the comfort of a protected space or walk up to the upper viewing deck for a 360° view, it’s your choice. This vessel have plenty of space for up to 34 passengers with a washroom on board.

Winter Eco Tour
What to bring:
Dress warmly and in layers. We recommend waterproof outerwear, comfortable footwear, a hat, gloves, binoculars, and a camera if you wish. You can bring your own snacks or order a lunch pack with us.
Vessel:
Our vessels feature a comfortable, heated and covered seating area with windows that can be opened, a 360° open viewing deck, and an onboard washroom.
Trip route:
Each trip's route is planned on the day, based on recent wildlife sightings, tides, weather and sea conditions.
Wildlife sightings:
Specific wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. The animals encountered will vary with the season, conditions and daily route, but we know where to look to have the best chances.
Weather:
Winter weather on the Salish Sea can change quickly. Strong winds may require us to cancel a trip due to rough water conditions. Please monitor your email the day before and the morning of the trip. If we cancel, we will offer an alternative date, likely the following week, subject to availability. If the alternative date does not work for you, we will provide a full refund.
