Birding Adventures on the Salish Sea (Winter Season)

Join us for an unforgettable winter  birding adventure on the open water, where seasonal seabirds and marine wildlife take centre stage. These trips offer birders the chance to experience species that difficult or rarely seen from shore, while enjoying the dramatic beauty of winter on the West Coast. Whether you’re an experienced birder or simply curious about ocean wildlife, our trips are designed to be welcoming and rewarding for all. Dress warmly, bring your binoculars, and get ready for an exciting birding at sea trip. Whether you’re a local or visiting BC, our tour offers a unique and fun way to spend a few hours on the water.

While specific sightings aren’t guaranteed on these tours, you’ll still experience the incredible marine life, coastal scenery, and rich natural history that make the Salish Sea so extraordinary.

Winter Birding Adventure

Our 40+ ft large semi-enclosed vessels are perfect for ocean adventurers of all ages! Enjoy your tour while in the comfort of a protected space or walk up to the upper viewing deck for a 360° view, it’s your choice. Our vessel have plenty of space for 23 or 34 passengers with a washroom and heater on board.

Important Information for Your Birding Adventure

What to bring:
Dress warmly and in layers. We recommend waterproof outerwear, comfortable footwear, a hat, gloves, binoculars and a camera if you wish.

Vessel:
Birding trips operate aboard our semi-enclosed vessel, featuring covered seating, open viewing decks, and an onboard washroom.

Trip route:
Each monthly birding trip will have a different route and itinerary, based on seasonal bird activity, recent sightings, tides, weather, and sea conditions.

Wildlife sightings:
Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. The birds and other wildlife encountered will vary with the season, conditions, and daily route.

Weather:
Winter weather on the Salish Sea can change quickly. Strong winds may require us to cancel a trip due to rough water conditions. Please monitor your email the day before and morning of the trip.  If we cancel, we will offer an alternative date, likely the following week, subject to availability. If the alternative date does not work for you, we will provide a full refund.
