First Week of June -Whales, seals & sun

Peak season is here and the encounters have already been unforgettable!
Humpback whales, Bigg's Killer Whales, seals, sea lions, bald eagles and more, are what we were spotting and watching to start off June.

June 8th was a first day for two new members of our Seabreeze Team; Becky and Sarv and what a first day they had! After a long search and a little worry that we would have a rare "no whale day", our semi-enclosed vessel Crazy Legs spotted a pods of Orcas on the way home to Steveston, smack bang in the middle of the strait! Check out the photos of the large male T049A1 from the T049A Bigg's Killer Whale pod spotted during the tours.

The following day was just as exciting, with Crazy Legs also finding an amazing sight of a mother Humpback whale and her calf! Check out the photos below including the adorable little mouth sticking out the water! So many tubercles already!

The excitement of the day wasn't over as Orcas were spotted on the west side of Valdes Island. Whales don't care about the rain and that is good for us! The T046C's were having a swell time in the waves. Pun intended.

We get asked a lot if the rain stops us going out to see whales and it never does! Only bad winds but the whales don't care if it rains and neither do we. This rainy trip was a perfect example that a trip without blue skies can still be an amazing experience!

Thanks to all who joined Captains Rick, Elliot & Lloyd and Naturalists Selena, Sarv, Becky & Shauna. We look forward to seeing you all again! Some photos/videos were taken using a Canon camera with a telescopic lens and cropping and others by passengers
