Sea Lion School

Springtime. When the humpback whales come back, Sea Lions take over and kids are still in school. This time of year gives us a great opportunity to see both Stellar and Californian Sea Lions congregate in great numbers in the Salish sea! And to see them super close to home for us in Steveston.

We had a fantastic last weekend of April. Many here in on the coast of British Columbia, were overjoyed to have our first taste of summer heat and sun this past weekend! And oh boy did we have fantastic trips on both our semi-enclosed vessel and zodiac vessel!

We cover the waters off Vancouver & Richmond but also the Gulf Islands off Vancouver Island & US waters around the San Juan Islands. So much space to find some whales and wildlife!

A whale watching trip to remember, even without whales. We had a rare no "whale-day" this week but we still had a great time while we cruised around in the hope of finding some whales. Sometimes it just isn't our day but we got plenty of other wildlife to learn about and to admire!

April 7th - Whale Watching Close to home

After some concern for the weather, we lucked out with a sudden change in conditions and got to head out for some fantastic whale watching in surprisingly dry weather, a great start to the Easter Weekend! Greeting the local pair of Bald Eagles nesting along the Steveston Jetty, our attention was taken by the numerous Californian and Stellar Sea lions. A popular spot for the two different species of Sea Lions to chillax and have a rest.

April 4th-Whales & Chainsaw!

Steveston was greeted by a taste of the Vancouver summer with a day of calm waters and sunshine! Spirits were high and excited for some whale watching action before we had even left the dock and this enthusiasm may have brought us some luck as we got some Bigg's Killer Whales right on our doorstep in the Strait of Georgia!
