What a Start to the 2025 Season - Orcas and Grey Whales Galore

April kicked off with sunshine and spectacular sightings! After weeks of rainy weather, the skies finally cleared—just in time for an unforgettable start to the whale watching season with Seabreeze Adventures. Within the first three days, we encountered two pods of Bigg’s killer whales, two grey whales, and an abundance of seals, sea lions, and bald eagles. On June 27th, 2023, we were lucky enough to have a rare and astonishing encounter with not one, but six humpbacks. As one of the only boats out at 12pm that day, we travelled towards Nanaimo where there were reports of humpback whales from earlier that morning.

Rainy Killer Whale Days

Don't let rainy days stop you from whale watching! On June 19th, 2023, our passengers were lucky enough to find the T046B matriline in a happy mood. Grey and drizzly skies might dissuade some people from joining us on the boat, but the rain won't stop the killer whales from breaching. Fresh off a successful hunt with full bellies, this pod of orcas celebrated by breaching, spy-hopping, and tail-slapping for at least thirty minutes off the coast of Salt Spring Island.
