Exciting Humpback Encounter

On June 27th, 2023, we were lucky enough to have a rare and astonishing encounter with not one, but six humpbacks. As one of the only boats out at 12pm that day, we travelled towards Nanaimo where there were reports of humpback whales from earlier that morning.

Rainy Killer Whale Days

Don't let rainy days stop you from whale watching! On June 19th, 2023, our passengers were lucky enough to find the T046B matriline in a happy mood. Grey and drizzly skies might dissuade some people from joining us on the boat, but the rain won't stop the killer whales from breaching. Fresh off a successful hunt with full bellies, this pod of orcas celebrated by breaching, spy-hopping, and tail-slapping for at least thirty minutes off the coast of Salt Spring Island.

Father's Day Weekend Whale Watching

"Junuary" hit us this June with wind cancellation, after wind cancellation, after more wind cancellations! Luckily, father's day weekend wasn't spoiled and we had good weather to head out and see some whales! Both Saturday and Sunday tours were crewed by Captain Lloyd and Naturalist Camryn and they definitely had a lucky streak going for the weekend especially for Orcas!

First Week of June -Whales, seals & sun

Peak season is here and the encounters have already been unforgettable! Humpback whales, Bigg's Killer Whales, seals, sea lions, bald eagles and more, are what we were spotting and watching to start off June. June 8th was a first day for two new members of our Seabreeze Team; Becky and Sarv and what a first day they had! After a long search and a little worry that we would have a rare "no whale day", our semi-enclosed vessel Crazy Legs spotted a pods of Orcas on the way home to Steveston, smack bang in the middle of the strait! Check out the photos of the large male T049A1 from the T049A Bigg's Killer Whale pod spotted during the tours.
